The Community Based Organization was established in 2003 based on the initial concept of Congressman Charles B. Rangel in 1979 with the proposed Harlem International Trade Center. In 2004, with support and a Joint Partnership Agreement with the United States Department of Commerce, the two organizations were collocated in the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building. GTTC is a not-for-profit Community Based Organization dedicated to promoting the export of American small and medium-sized companies’ goods and services, technologies, educating businesses and training individuals for careers in the marketplace and encouraging cultural exchange between developing countries of the world and minority communities.
