Guatemala and the United States of America enjoy a growing trade relationship and it became stronger after the CAFTA-DR, a trade agreement that was signed in 2007. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala (MINEX, the Spanish acronym) develops the policies and the application of the legal framework regarding the relations of Guatemala with other States, as well as the diplomatic representation of the State, Guatemalan nationality, and diplomatic and consular affairs. Assuming that mandate, under the direction of the President of Guatemala, MINEX has implemented the Network of Commercial Counselors whit direct representation in 21 Cities around the world, and it continues to promote trade and investment opportunities. //One of the goals of this Red is to be a facilitator, consultant, guide, and support to the exporters, tourism, and productive sector in Guatemala, connecting them with trade partners around the world. MINEX also participates when its involvement is requested in product situations in collaboration with international entities and situations that affect the interest of the country.
