Founded in 2015, the MAPLE Business Council is an executive networking organization that promotes bilateral investment, trade and entrepreneurship between the U.S. and Canada. Endorsed by the Consulate General’s of Canada in New York & Los Angeles, MAPLE is headquartered in Southern California, which until we opened our NY chapter in 2020 was the organizations primary focus.
MAPLE is a very active in the economic development community, providing valuable cross-sector networking at an executive level and outstanding content to inform our knowledge of Canada-U.S. and sector-focused opportunities. Over the past 5+ years, we have hosted approximately 75 live events, 3 Delegations to Canada, 100 Newsletters & Videos, and over 10,000 Tweets. Until 2020, our events have been held in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Vancouver and Toronto…. And since forming our NY chapter in June 2020, we have already held 4 virtual events covering Bi-lateral Trade & Investment, Energy, and Cross Border Logistics. Once we can meet again in person, we’ll be hosting live events here in NY as well.
Membership currently spans 19 different sectors with leading organizations as members in Canada and the U.S. Some examples include: TMX Group (Toronto Stock Exchange/TSX Venture Exchange), Purolator International, Air Canada, Avison Young, Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), Brookfield Property, Canadian Olympic Foundation, Fasken Law, Knobbe Martens, Provinces of Ontario and Quebec, RSM, Teknion and 52% of our members reside in the US and 48% in Canada.
MAPLE is also a partner to the City of Long Beach and the World Trade organizations in Los Angeles, Vancouver and NY. And, we partner with the Canadian Consulate teams in NY and LA, the Ontario Government and Trade office, the Quebec Delegation, Investissement Quebec, the US Commercial Service, Greater Irvine Chamber, CENE, City of Long Beach, Alliance for SoCal Innovation, and the Long Island Association.
