The New York City Mayor’s Office for International Affairs works to foster positive relations and encourage collaboration between the international community and New York City's agencies and local neighborhoods.  On the economic development front, the Office works with the international community, businesses, and City agencies to attract and create economic opportunities for New Yorkers.  NYC is home to the largest diplomatic community in the world – 116 Consulate, 193 Permanent Missions to the United Nations, and the headquarters of the United Nations.
